Welcome back to school to all our Year 2 children and families. The Year 2 team have been so impressed by the way that the children have settled back into school life and how enthusiastically they are responding to new routines and learning. Mrs Wain and Mrs Hickman have been busy reading with all the children to establish how much progress they have made and to select the best books for them.  Look out for an update as to how we will manage reading books going forward. In the meantime, please continue to read with and to your children. It really does make a difference.

We have spent the first two weeks establishing routines, revisiting skills and knowledge and enjoying alternative versions of well known stories and rhymes. We have explored the themes and concepts of perseverance, growth mindset and perspective. The children have amazed us with their mature approach to the new term.

We are really looking forward to our next topic The Great Fire of London…the children have already been asking questions and researching!
