During the summer term, year 5 have experienced lots of new learning about the Ancient Maya. As well as DT day, the children have experienced a wonderful Maya workshop, run by Mexicolore. The Mexicolore team are exciting and engaging and the children participated in Mayan chanting, drumming and had an opportunity to look at Mayan artefacts. It was a very fun, exciting and knowledge-filled morning! The children have also experienced the Ancient Maya ball game of Pok-ta-Pok. It was extremely difficult to play as the players were only allowed to touch the ball with their hips and knees and the hoop that the ball had to go through was quite high up! It was lots of fun though!
