Hello and Happy New Year! Here is the information for our second cross country competition.

This is a MOB event of the season, when both divisions race together and takes place at Braywick Sports Ground, on Thursday 18th  January 2024.

Please can children come to school in their cross country running clothes. They will collect a top from Miss Connelly at break time. Please send your child/ren in with extra snacks and water to take to the event and extra warm clothes!

Race Information:

Date:  Thursday 18th January 2024

Instructions:

•        Walk the course from 1pm

•        Briefing at 1.45pm with Mr Garner (Wooden Hill) – children and team managers only

Race Order:   

First Race yr 3/4 girls – 2.00pm

Second Race yr 3/4 boys – 2.15pm

Third race   Yr 5/6 girls – 2.30pm

Fourth race Yr 5/6 boys -2.45pm

Car parking:

There is car plenty of car parking available in the main car park in front of the Braywick Leisure Centre and near the new start area of the race.  Head towards Stafferton Lodge and turn right through both height restriction barriers into the new leisure centre car park.

The car park is pay and display. Some machines do not accept Apple Pay – only credit/debit cards.

The following charges apply:

•        Up to 1 hours – £1.30

•        Over 3 hours – £5.30

Race Assembly Area: 

Head towards the Leisure Centre Entrance.  Walk straight through the Leisure Centre and exit on the opposite side to the car park.  Continue ahead and the meeting point will be immediately obvious ahead.

Toilets and refreshments:

These are located inside the Leisure Centre on the right hand side as you enter inside. There is an excellent café on the left hand side that we are allowed to use.

Course route: 

There is a good wide start and it’s a very visible open course.  The course is fairly flat but can be extremely muddy.  It runs around the outside of one of the rugby pitches (please ask the children to keep off the pitches when walking the course).

Year 3/4 – 1.4 km approx.

 Year 5/6 – 2 km approx.
