Year 5 have commemorated Remembrance in several different ways over the past week. In English, the children wrote their own Remembrance poems based on poems that we had read. We also studied the words of songs from World War Two and considered their meaning. In music, the children listened to different pieces of music and discussed how these songs would have been used during the war. In art, the children produced beautiful sunset silhouette pictures to remember the fallen soldiers. The children also learnt different dances from World War Two such as the jitterbug and lindyhop.
