Nocturnal Animals

The Puffins and Sparrows have been enjoying a topic all about nocturnal animals. For the first few weeks, our learning was based on the story of ‘Owl Babies.’ We had a lot of fun writing our own versions of the story, putting the owls in size order, making playdough owls, making egg box owls and lots more. A highlight from this topic was when the Puffins and Sparrows became film stars and took part in filming their very own version of ‘Owl Babies’. Some of the children were even lucky enough to film their ‘Owl Babies’ on a real set with a green screen and microphones. We all loved watching the films afterwards!

After ‘Owl Babies’ we moved on to learning about other nocturnal animals and have been busy making animal posters, night time pictures, clay hedgehogs and learning about adding one more using hedgehogs.

We hope that you enjoy a selection of photographs from our topic including a few from our new role play area outside (Percy’s Shed) and other autumnal activities including chopping vegetables.

We are all (including the staff!) looking forward to starting our Christmas topic next week!
