World Book Day was definitely the highlight of the book themed week in Year 1. The children looked fantastic in their costumes and enjoyed discussing their costume choice, sharing their favourite book and describing their favourite characters.

Throughout the week the children have enjoyed dialling into virtual author talks, hunting for hidden books around the school site, deciphering emoji book titles, singing the world book day rap, admiring class doors decorated as books as well as lots of activities based around the wonderful book “I don’t like books. Never. Ever. The end.” by Emma Perry. We look forward to hearing which book the children choose to buy using their world book day book voucher.
