World Book Week 2021

Well, what a week! We certainly proved that we absolutely love everything to do with books and reading at Keep Hatch.  It has been wonderful to see everybody getting involved in our Book Week activities, both at home and at school.  So many children have commented on the window displays in houses around our school and Spoon Town is growing everyday outside the music suite.

It really has been a joy to hear about the books the children and staff are enjoying at the moment and discussing our favourite authors and illustrators. Our new virtual library has certainly had a lot of use. We have all had a chance to see many authors on screen this week too!  I know Charlie Mackesy has a few new fans as a result of the wonderful work that has been done on his beautiful book, The Boy, the mole, the fox and the Horse this week.

As always, the costumes for World Book Day were incredible and with the lockdown twist of being able to add a background to our screen it was even more effective. And finally, thank you for all getting behind the silly idea of the masked reader.  It has caused lots of giggles and excitement. There is still time to view them and complete the quiz if you would like to, as well as uploading potato characters and book covers too.  Here are some photos showing just a few of the fantastic things we achieved during our Book Week. We hope you enjoyed the week as much as we did.
