Year 1 have enjoyed using resources to deepen their understanding in maths. They have used part whole models with cubes, ten frames with double sided counters to work out number bonds and even used chop sticks to recreate the greater than and less than symbols to compare numbers. These practical exercises have really helped the children visualise abstract ideas.
