A Wonderful Christmas Time

The Puffins and Sparrows are having a wonderful Christmas time. We started our topic by looking at different versions of the Nativity story, making stables and learning to put numbers in order. The children have also been learning to write Christmas cards, be a good audience for the KS1 play, make Christmas cakes and lots more!

In the Shared Area, Santa’s Sitting Room and the Elf Workshop has opened.  The children have had the opportunity to take on the role of an elf, Rudolph or even Santa himself. It has been a lot of fun watching the children make and wrap the toys in the Elf Workshop and then help Santa deliver the presents to children (in our amazing hand built sleighs!) who are fast asleep in their beds.

One highlight from our topic has been our Christmas Workshop where the children invited a grown up into school. The children and adults took part in a circus of creative activities and ended the morning with a very special performance of some Christmas songs and a snowflake dance. We were so proud of how the children performed!

The Foundation Stage Team wish you all a very Happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
