Year 3/4 Football Tournament

On Friday, a group of year 4s represented Keep Hatch in a football tournament for Wokingham Schools, held on the Madejski Academy Pitches. All children represented the school fantastically both in the way they played and in the their attitude and behaviour throughout the day. In the morning we played 5 matches, winning 2, drawing 2 and losing one. This took us through to the quarter finals, where we played Hawthorns. Our matches with Hawthorns are always closely fought and this was no exception, however some great play, goals and a fantastic save saw us emerging winners. In the semi finals we came up against the eventual winner, Whiteknights. The defence, and especially our goal keeper received their greatest test yet but they readily stood up to the challenge. Despite some truly outstanding saves, that drew the attention of the Reading FC coaches, we lost the match 3-1.

The children should be very proud of their first match for Keep Hatch and we are all looking forward to seeing more great football when the new season starts in September.
