What a Wonderful World!
What a busy few weeks we have had since half term! We finished our Cultural Week DT project with our very own Italian Grand Prix. The children had been learning about wheels and axles and showed great determination and tenacity in building their Ferraris, Maseratis and other Italian cars. They had to keep trying until they found the best way to make their cars move.
We loved reading The Secret of Black Rock by Joe Todd Stanton, an exciting and beautifully illustrated story, with a gentle environmental message. We are very proud of the fantastic writing that the children did in response.
In Science we considered the questions “Does it matter what way up we plant our seeds?” and “What does a seed need to grow into a healthy plant?” We planted a variety of seeds and bulbs, under a variety of conditions, and we will be observing closely to see what happens!
