Results from the Bulmershe Relays on 22nd March 2018

Here are the results from the 22nd March cross country relay competition. This competition was different from all the rest as it was a relay. It was a big event because division 1 and 2 were in attendance.

  • Year 3/4 girls team – 26th out of 38 teams
  • Year 3/4 boys team A- 9th and team B- 33rd out of 50 teams
  • Year 5/6 girls team A- 7th  and team B- 25th out of 34 teams

I am so proud of all the children who ran in this competition and they should be too. Our places were incredible-there were a lot of teams in each race!! It was fantastic to see the children competing as part of a team. They cheered and encouraged each other, congratulating their team members as they ran their legs. All children displayed lovely sportsmanship. We haven’t been able to practise the baton change much, so I was very pleased to see the children practising this while they were waiting for their race to begin. Well done again!

This was our last cross country competition this for this academic year and I have really enjoyed seeing all the children who have attended the club grow in confidence as well as speed! It has been an amazing year with lots more children attending the club than ever before. We have only been in the league a short while and I am very pleased to see our name coming up in the results tables more and more. The children have shown fantastic determination and strength coming to club in the cold and wet weather. The competitions are always great fun and the cross country children have behaved brilliantly at these events. I hope they have enjoyed representing the school.

I also would like to thank the parents – we would not be able to attend these competitions without your support. Thank you for all your help at each competition, marshalling and recording the results. I know on occasions it was very cold standing around!

We are very proud of the children. Enjoy the break, but keep running!

See most of you next year and thank you to the Year 6 runners for making this a great year for us.
