It was lovely to see so many smiley faces this morning as children and their families arrived back to school for a new term.
We started 2019 with a whole school assembly to welcome the children back. The theme was New Year’s Resolutions and after listening to a short story, the children were invited to think about their own resolutions for this year.
The children were very reflective and many shared their resolutions with us. Here is a selection of their thoughts:
‘Always try hard. Never give up!’ (Devon, Year 6)
‘When there is a problem, keep trying. If you still need help, ask someone else. The problem will be sorted out.’ (Tayla, Year 3)
‘If you are finding something difficult, keep positive!’ (Phoebe, Year 5)
‘Help other people when they need help.’ (Riley, Year 2)
‘If at first you don’t succeed, then try, try again!’ (Chloe, Year 3)
‘Have ambition: dig deep!’ (Phoebe, Year 6)
We were really impressed with how these resolutions link closely to our school values. What a positive start to our new school term.
