Gung Hay Fat Choy!

This week, the Puffins and Sparrows have been learning about China and Chinese New Year. We have made dragon masks, concertina dragons, ‘Gung Hay Fat Choy’ cards and we have been learning about ‘The Great Race’. The children have been very busy preparing Spuffin Cottage for Chinese New Year by putting up decorations and sweeping all of the bad luck away. We also took part in a ‘Chopstick Challenge’ where we had a minute to use chopsticks to move as many pompoms as we could.

This afternoon, we had our very own Chinese New Year parade where all of the Puffins and Sparrows had the opportunity to take part in the dragon dance and play instruments. We finished off the day by trying some Chinese food and singing ‘Gung Hay Fat Choy.’ Take a look at our graph to see what the most popular Chinese food was!
