Cross Country Results From Cantley on Thursday 4th October 2018

Our first cross country competition is done! And what an amazing one it was. We supported two other schools in organising this event and setting it up on the day. This meant the children walked with Mrs Leigh-Murray, Mrs Coe and Mrs Wallis as well as some parents who were kind enough to help. A big thank you to everyone who walked our team to Cantley. I had to meet the children there but I was able to see them briefly and I must say they all looked very smart. I have been told they were brilliantly behaved – so well done Keep Hatch! It can be a long time to wait (especially for Year 5 children) but I was pleased to hear the children were encouraging and cheering each other on when they were not running. What a lovely team spirit.

I must also say a big thank you to the parents who supported us by walking with the children, recording the results and marshalling the car park. We could not attend and run these events without you so thank you.

For our new Year 3 runners and new runners to the club, the first competition can always be a scary prospect but they all ran fantastically and with great enthusiasm. Our experienced runners went out strong and faced the course with confidence and determination. I was out on the course and was very proud to see the children running confidently and with fantastic focus.
