The last cross country competition will take place at Bulmershe School Woodlands Avenue, Woodley, Reading RG5 3EU on Thursday 21st March in the afternoon.
The entrance for this event for parking is via Chequers Way which is off Howth Drive RG5 3EH.
You can not park by coming in through the front entrance to the school. This will only be for coaches or cars to drop off and coaches to pick up. As always car parking is limited! This is also a MOB event so division 1 will also be in attendance, making it a very busy place to park. We are not allowed to park any earlier than 2:10pm.
Bulmershe World Challenge students will be helping with parking, there is a fee of £1 for parking. If parking in surrounding areas please park mindfully, any illegal parking will be ticketed.
We will leave school at 1:50pm from the usual place. Please can you ensure you bring 8 safety pins with you for your child to pin on their running label.
Year 3/4 will run 1000m for each leg of the relay
Year 5/6 will run 1,200m for each leg of the relay
School briefing 2:50pm
- Year 3/4 girls relay 3:00pm
- Year 3/4 boys relay 3:25pm
- Year 5/6 girls relay 3:50pm
- Year 5/6 boys relay 4:15pm
On the day Keep Hatch need to provide 2 marshals. If you are able to support the school and be a marshal for the afternoon please let me know. On arrival if you find me and I will give you your high viz jacket and you will then need to report for your briefing at 2:30pm on the day. We do not need to record the relays results at this event.
The League and Relay presentation will be held at the end of this event at approximately 4:30pm. I would encourage as many parents and children to stay for this. With our position in the league at the moment, if we also score highly in the relays, will be promoted to division 1 and therefore medals/trophies given out. There will also be individual medals handed out. I do not know if any of our children would get these medals until the day. The more support we could have for this and of course cheering on other year groups relay teams would be fantastic!
Please can I take this opportunity to thank all of the cross country team and club runners for a wonderful and incredible season of running. It has been such a delightful pleasure to watch cross country club grow and I am so proud of every child who has attended club whether they have come to a competition or not. For the children who have come to the competitions the growth in their confidence running is inspiring. It is not an easy task to run long distance or at the start line with everyone pushing!
Also I must thank parents, grandparents and any other adults who have helped with transport, marshalling and recording the results. We could not attend these competitions without you. And last but by no means least a big thank you to Miss Leigh-Murray, Mrs Coe and Mrs Wallis with your support running the club, you have been a great support and I have enjoyed running the club with you all.
The last club will be on Tuesday 19th March.
