Parent Testimonials — September 2020

My daughter started Keep Hatch in September 2019 knowing no one else. She quickly settled supported by the helpful and friendly reception teachers who always welcomed the children every morning with a warm smile. She has completely flourished over the year with interesting activities. As a curious and academic child, the teachers continued to challenge her appropriately, recognising her individual strengths. As a keyworker child, she continued to access the school through the lockdown period and I cannot credit the school more for the way they handled the situation, educating the children in a suitable and stimulating way, ensuring her safety whilst continuing her learning. I would highly recommend Keep Hatch Primary School.

I feel this school is a fantastic school to try and encourage children to speak out loud with thoughts and ideas with their creativity. This school encourages children to always try their best in whatever they do but to always remember to have fun!

I asked my son what he would say to parents looking around the school and he said ‘I think it is quite amazing. The learning is good and everyone is friendly’.
We have been really pleased with how well he has settled in to school. All the staff have been very helpful and made the transition for him as smooth as possible. Staff have listened to information we have shared about my son and ensured his needs are met, not just academically but socially and emotionally. My son is happy to go to school and is proud of what he achieves each day.

My favourite thing about Keep Hatch is how happy the children are, and how much they love school. It is what made us chose the school in the first place. My child is always in a good mood when he comes home and always excitedly tells me about his day. They also have a large variety of excellent facilities, like the kitchen and swimming pool which gives my child good opportunities to learn in many ways.

Starting reception was a very different experience for my little boy this September. He missed the usual inductions and transitions but Keep Hatch have handled it brilliantly. He was very excited to start and we have all felt tremendous support. I am extremely confident in the leadership and teaching at Keep Hatch. It is a wonderful school.

I would highly recommend looking around Keep Hatch school as it confirmed to us what a lovely learning environment it is. The school is so friendly, well equipped and the pupils on our tour were lovely. We are so glad we picked Keep Hatch for our child who has just started and who is so happy to go every morning.

Our little boy is absolutely loving school, he is coming on so well at Keep Hatch. His first day he was greeted with smiley faces and friendly staff. The teachers are wonderful, they really get the best out of your child. We really couldn’t be happier with our choice.

Very detailed tour of the school and all our questions were answered which made our son quite comfortable on his first day.

Keep Hatch School is the most lovely, nurturing, and exciting place. My child has flourished since starting his journey of education here.

A very friendly school. Felt very informed at initial meeting. Loved that the children showed us around the school!

We are very happy with the school. Very kind and helpful staff.

We have two children at Keep Hatch and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the school. Keep Hatch has some wonderful ideas to get families involved such as sharing assemblies and productions at Christmas and encourages parent support throughout the year for those wanting to get involved. The sports facilities are good and it is lovely to have a pool onsite, which the children are able to access after school in the summer months.
I have been very impressed with how the children of all year groups blend at Keep Hatch, the older children really do support the younger ones; which is lovely to see
The school really went above and beyond during lockdown and not only did we have great learning support for home schooling, the staff went out of their way to share a smile with the children.

We joined Keep Hatch in September and our first impressions have been good. The prospective new parent tour led by Mrs Cartwright was very informative and friendly and we could see excellent learning taking place through all year groups. In our first few weeks the school and staff have been very welcoming and communication has been clear and helpful. The school offered for our child’s teacher to phone us to talk about how they are settling in which adds some extra reassurance. The school are managing the situation with COVID well and putting steps in place to keep everyone as safe as possible and adapting these steps as required. Our child was awarded star of the week and things like this to help them to settle into their new class. We are happy with our choice and hope the school continue to make us feel welcome as a new family and to do what they can to settle our child in and get them up to speed with the rest of the class and to feel cared for and settled.

The support we have received from the office team and class teacher has been over and above our expectations. The office team began communication with us when we were overseas and they have continued to check in with our daughter, and with us, even after school started. The class teacher arranged a 3-way Teams call with our daughter’s previous teacher to introduce herself before the start of school. Nothing has been too much trouble, the staff and school have been extremely welcoming.
